Plano, Texas (Sept. 15, 2016) - Whether you’re a first-time parent, doting grandparent or seasoned baby sitter, car seats are not always the easiest things to figure out. In fact, 75 percent of seats in the U.S. are not used correctly.1 That’s why Buckle Up for Life, the national car seat education program from Toyota and Cincinnati Children’s, is sharing its top safety tips, just in time for Child Passenger Safety Week (September 18-24). Toyota and Cincinnati Children’s Partner with Children’s Health to Launch Buckle Up for Life in North Texas

Dallas (July 21, 2016) – What if there was a way to help prevent a leading cause of childhood death, but three out of four of us were doing it wrong? The startling truth is that 75 percent of car seats in the U.S. are not used correctly.[1] Additionally, 78.6% of children inspected at The Safety Source-Injury Prevention Service’s 2013 child passenger safety program at Children’s Medical Center Dallas were riding incorrectly, or worse, arrived at inspection stations unrestrained.[2]
 
To help address this, Toyota and Cincinnati Children’s have partnered with Children’s Health, the leading pediatric health care system in North Texas, to launch the national education program Buckle Up for Life in North Texas. During the six week program, trained specialists work closely with parents and caregivers to teach them about all aspects of car seats, booster seats and seat belts. The program is offered in English and Spanish and provides free seats to families in need.... more

Perry, you see, has the strength and stomach to remove refrigerators and freezers from homes devastated by a record-breaking flood in Clendenin, W.Va., about 60 miles east of TMMWV. He’s one of more than 100 team members who have volunteered to help residents in the aftermath of the June 23 thunderstorms that dropped some 10 inches of rain in only a few hours. The adjoining Elk River rose more than 27 feet, coating the town of 1,200 residents in mud and claiming 25 lives.... more

As a driver at the Senior Connection in nearby Silver Spring, this is the sort of trip Korb made more than 200 times the last year - volunteering his time and vehicle to pick up senior citizens and take them to doctor’s appointments, shopping trips and community events.
