At the time, Bennett was training in Louisiana, a thousand miles from the Mountain State where he grew up. PLANO, Texas (Sept. 14, 2016) – Toyota announced it will increase Tacoma’s production by more than 60,000 trucks annually at its Baja California, Mexico facility in 2018.  The increased volume will add approximately 400 jobs and inject about $150 million in new investment.  Since November 2011, Toyota has announced expansions to its North American operations, resulting in over 7,000 new jobs and a total of about $3.7 billion in additional investments.... more

Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia (TMMWV) team member Tony Perry is known as “the Refrigerator.”
 
Perry, you see, has the strength and stomach to remove refrigerators and freezers from homes devastated by a record-breaking flood in Clendenin, W.Va., about 60 miles east of TMMWV. He’s one of more than 100 team members who have volunteered to help residents in the aftermath of the June 23 thunderstorms that dropped some 10 inches of rain in only a few hours. The adjoining Elk River rose more than 27 feet, coating the town of 1,200 residents in mud and claiming 25 lives.... more

TMMTX Manufactures Clean Water, Power . . . and Trucks

San Antonio, Texas (Apr. 22, 2016) -- At Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas (TMMTX), Earth Day is every day. The plant, which builds both the Tundra and Tacoma trucks, recycles 1.2 million gallons of water. Every. Day. By cleaning the water received from San Antonio Water Systems, using it, then cleaning it again, TMMTX has been returning better quality water than it received from the system since 2007. While that amount of water recycling is a tremendous achievement, it is not the stopping point for sustainability at TMMTX.
 
TMMTX’s newest project, a partnership with CPS Energy, will see two acres of solar panels installed on the TMMTX campus. The solar panels will be located near the plant’s Visitor and Education Center, providing an education opportunity for the thousand-plus visitors who tour the plant monthly.... more
