Mike Owens is President and Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Financial Savings Bank (TFSB) in Henderson, NV. He reports to Chris Ballinger, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Toyota Financial Services (TFS). In his current role, Owens has led TFSB through one of the most difficult periods in US banking history. Through his leadership, TFSB has seen year-over-year earnings growth, expanded financial services through a highly successful credit card program, and solidified long-term success by establishing a culture focused on accountability and sound banking practices.
Owens’ past assignments with TFS have including managing the credit function for an $8 billion dealer financing portfolio, managing lending relationships with its largest borrowers, and developing and implementing strategic initiatives to increase dealer financing.
Owens has more than 25 years of experience in credit analysis, risk management, account management, and business development. He developed his skills working at some of the largest and most sophisticated institutions in the commercial finance industry, including Mellon Bank, Bank of America, GE Capital, and TFS. Lines of business include financing private equity led acquisitions, middle market asset-based lending and multi-party syndicated credit facilities, both for public and private companies.
Owens earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles.
