Scott Cooke is Vice President of Risk, Dealer Credit, and Information Security for Toyota Financial Services (TFS). He also serves as TFS’ Chief Risk Officer, Americas Region, responsible for establishing and implementing risk-based policies and risk-based metrics for Toyota Financial Services Corporation (TFSC) affiliates in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela. Cooke reports to TFS President and CEO, Mike Groff.
Cooke joined TFS in June, 2003, as Director of Market Risk, Economic Capital, and International Treasury. He was responsible for the oversight of interest rate, liquidity, basis, and counterparty credit risk. Additionally, he provided direction for the funding, market risk, and capitalization of the company’s Latin American subsidiaries.
Cooke became Head of Strategic Planning and Competitive Intelligence in 2006, and led the development of corporate and business unit strategy, as well as corporate-level primary and secondary research, benchmarking, and external intelligence gathering.
In 2008, Cooke was promoted to Corporate Manager, Business Intelligence. He was tasked with strategy development, and led the creation of the company’s Analytical Center of Excellence and Data Warehouse, as well as its Business Intelligence groups. Cooke also oversaw the Office of Privacy.
Then, in 2011, Cooke became Corporate Manager, Office of the Chief Information Officer, overseeing a budget of approximately $200 million and a global workforce of nearly 1,000. In this role, he was responsible for managing the company’s IT strategy and program management office, as well as ensuring compliance and supervising vendor management.
Most recently, Cooke served as Corporate Manager, Dealer Credit, from 2012 to 2014; and as Corporate Manager, Product Planning, for North America Products at Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) from 2014 to 2015.
Cooke is on the steering committee for the North America Asset Liability Management Association and served as an executive sponsor for Spectrum, one Toyota’s five business partnering groups designed to advance Toyota’s business interests through the sharing of employees' unique insights and experiences. He is also a volunteer at Newport Coast Elementary, a manager at the Newport Little League, and participates in several TFS-sponsored youth tutoring and mentoring programs.
Cooke earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and his MBA from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
