Mike Wells is Toyota Financial Services’ (TFS) group vice president of Sales, Marketing, Insurance and Product, responsible for over 800 associates in 30 field offices and 3 region offices. He oversees marketing; all finance, lease, and insurance products; and the remarketing of all Toyota Financial Services and Toyota Motor Sales off-lease and fleet vehicles. In addition, Wells oversees the Americas Region.
Wells joined the Toyota organization in 1986, and has held a number of leadership roles within both the Toyota and Lexus divisions. Prior to his current role, Wells served as group vice president of Operations, Commercial Finance and International; as well as general manager of Toyota Financial Savings Bank (TFSB). He provided oversight for the company’s three Customer Service Centers, Commercial Finance business and international team. He was also responsible for TFSB, an industrial loan-chartered operation that launched in 2004, and has since come to market with a number of dealer-based banking products and the Lexus Pursuits Visa®.
At Toyota Motor Sales, Wells served as vice president, San Francisco Region, directing sales, service, parts, and customer relations activities of the region’s 61 Northern California-based dealerships. He also served as vice president of Sales and Dealer development for Lexus, responsible for all activities in the sales, distribution, certified pre-owned, and market representation departments. He also held the position of vice president of Marketing for Lexus, where he was responsible for all marketing activities and coordinating the division’s long-range strategic planning.
Other positions held by Wells at Toyota include both corporate and general manager of Toyota Financial Services Insurance (TMIS). He was responsible for Toyota’s three U.S. insurance companies, F&I insurance products, and the overall direction of six regional sales offices. Additionally, Wells served as the corporate manager and dean of Dealer Education and Development for the University of Toyota, as the national Marketing and Training manager for TMIS, and the National Process Development and Control manager for Toyota Motor Credit Corporation (TMCC).
Wells earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington.
