Jacqueline Thomas is group vice president, chief compliance officer for Toyota Motor North America (TMNA). She is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership over multiple departments, including internal audit, compliance and ethics, regulatory compliance, customs/trade compliance and assurance. Her division ensures compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures upholding Toyota’s commitment to integrity and principled performance.
Prior to her new position, Thomas served as vice president, chief compliance officer for TMNA. Thomas joined Toyota in 1999 as a financial projects manager and was promoted to internal audit director. Thomas subsequently held the positions of chief audit executive and vice president of corporate responsibility.
Thomas joined TMS in 1999 as a financial projects manager and was subsequently promoted to internal audit director, chief audit executive, then vice president of corporate responsibility, prior to her current position.
Prior to joining TMS, she worked at ARCO (Atlantic Richfield Company) in a variety of management positions, including procurement, financial administration, business management consulting, and internal audit.
She is active in a number of church and community programs. Thomas is recognized as a thought leader and has led several projects addressing organizational and career development transformation opportunities. She is currently a member of the Corporate Executive Board, the Compliance & Ethics Leadership Council, and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Thomas earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
