Chris Tinto currently serves as the group vice president for Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) in the Mobility group, under Digital Transformation & Mobility (DTM). The mobility function houses both Mobility Services and Technology for Human Support, with responsibilities to implement new mobility business ventures and innovation, as well as to investigate technologies to help provide mobility to all individuals, including those with mobility impairments or disabilities.
Prior to this role, Tinto served in the One Toyota Project Management Office, leading teams working on the new North America One Toyota infrastructure, site development and move planning for the new corporate headquarters in Plano,Texas.
Tinto has also served as a senior advisor on issues related to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, in support of the Vehicle Safety Compliance Liaison office, the Chief Quality Officer and the Regional Product Safety Executive.
Previously, Tinto was group vice president of the Technical and Regulatory Affairs office for Safety at TMA in Washington, D.C. The group served as the company's main liaison to the federal government for issues related to motor vehicle safety, focusing on government safety rulemaking activities (FMVSS), enforcement and compliance issues, third-party vehicle crash testing, and internal company initiatives related to motor vehicle safety.
Tinto has a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland.
